In Texas, you must be 18 or older to get a tattoo. There are only 2 exceptions:

  • If you are an emancipated minor and you must bring documentation of your emancipation with you, of which, we will need to take a photo copy of.
  • A parent has received court orders for the minor to get a cover up, usually involves the original tattoo to be one of the following: 1) gang related symbols, words or signs 2) illegal drug-related names, symbols or images 3) any offensive or obscene language or symbols or 4) a court mandated cover up for the best interest of the minor. The parent will need to be present for the entire tattoo process and must not leave the studio.

Please keep in mind it is a class C misdemeanor in Texas to tattoo minors.

For more information on the age requirements for tattoos in the State of Texas please review Texas Administrative Code, §229.406(d)

No, you should not get a tattoo while pregnant and it is also recommended you not get tattooed while breast feeding. Here are a few reasons why:

  • The process of getting a tattoo involves piercing the skin with a needle, which creates an open wound. During pregnancy, the immune system undergoes changes, making pregnant women more susceptible to infections. This increased vulnerability could lead to a higher risk of developing an infection at the tattoo site, which could be harmful to both the mother and the developing baby. This could mean that there is a higher risk of transmitting blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV.
  • Tattooing adds stress to the baby as well as the mother's body and could send the mother into premature labor.
  • Some individuals may have allergic reactions to the tattoo ink or other substances used during the tattooing process. While rare, these allergic reactions can range from mild irritation to more severe complications, and during pregnancy, the body's immune system can be more sensitive, increasing the likelihood of an allergic reaction.
  • Tattooing could sometimes involve the use of a numbing agent, and the safety of these substances has not been extensively studied on how they might affect pregnant women, so there may be potential risks associated with the use of numbing creams while pregnant.
  • Since pregnancy causes changes in the body's physiology, including hormonal fluctuations and increased blood volume, these changes can affect the healing process of a tattoo and potentially lead to complications such as delayed healing or infection.

As a blanket rule, we only allow one guest with each client. This is to allow for optimal space for the artist to work and the client to be comfortable. Each artist may have their own requirements for guest policy, so please reach out to your artist to make sure you can bring a friend.

No, this can make the session unpleasant for both the artist and yourself. We will refuse service if we believe you are under the influence at the time of the appointment.
